The Bright Directions College Savings Program is one of the Illinois' 529 plan. In addition to the age-based and target portfolios, Bright Directions® allows you to choose from 27 individual fund portfolios and 8 female- and minority-owned portfolios, which are from various fund family. With the idividual portfolio option, the assets in your 529 Plan account will be reallocated only at your instruction, but changes to existing investments within the plan can be made only once per calendar year.
